Ukraine: Ukraine exported 3 mln tonnes of barley in July-February, 2005/06 MY

From the beginning of 2005/06 MY (June-July) till February, Ukrainian barley export totaled 2.99 mln tonnes for UAD 390 mln. It is down 800.000 tonnes from the previous year, AgriMarket.Info cited on April 7 State Statistics Committee reporting.

In particular, February barley export totaled 375.900 tonnes with average price 131 UAD per tonne.

The main volume of Ukrainian barley was shipped to Saudi Arabia (180.000 tonnes) and Jordan (152.000 tonnes). Also, Syria bought 24.830 tonnes and Libya - 10.420 tonnes.

In 2005 barley harvest totaled 8.97 mln tonnes, down 2.11 mln tonnes a year ago. In 2004 barley export reached 4.32 mln tonnes.
